NextNote Documentation

Everything you need to set up, operate, and get the most from the
NextNote presentation system.

What is NextNote?

NextNote turns PowerPoint into a professional live presentation system, with custom presenter layouts, readable notes, coloured cues, media countdowns, remote control, and full-screen next-slide outputs. It is designed to offer presenters all of the features they demand that current presentation software doesn't support.

NextNote Helper
Installed on the machine running PowerPoint, the Helper lives in the Mac menu bar or Windows system tray. It is used to bridge PowerPoint to the display across a local network using Bonjour for zero-config discovery.
NextNote Display
The operator interface. Runs on any Mac or Windows machine on the local network. It enables the enhanced features that presenters require including, configurable layouts, speaker memories and teleprompting, delivered using multiple independent output windows.

How it works

1
Install the Helper
Download and install NextNote Helper on the machine running PowerPoint. It runs silently in your menu bar or system tray.
2
Install the Add-In
The helper installs an Add-In for PowerPoint on first launch which installs the NextNote in to the ribbon tab.
3
Start NextNote in PowerPoint
Click NextNote Start in the PowerPoint ribbon. The Helper begins broadcasting slide content to the network.
4
Connect the Display
Launch NextNote Display on any machine on the same network. It automatically discovers the Helper — no IP addresses needed. Click the helper and instantly see the slides and notes.
