App Settings
Configure appearance, failover behaviour, OSC control, and the web interface.
Dark Mode
Toggles the NextNote Display interface between dark and light themes. The setting is saved and applied on next launch. Dark mode is recommended for low-light broadcast and live event environments.
Auto Failover
When enabled, if the Main helper disconnects, the Backup helper automatically becomes live without any operator action. This is critical for high-reliability event production where a dropout must be invisible to the audience.
OSC Control
NextNote speaks Open Sound Control (OSC) natively. Enable this to allow external controllers — such as a Stream Deck via Bitfocus Companion — to control the Display app over the network.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Listener Port | 8000 | The UDP port NextNote listens on for incoming OSC messages. |
| Feedback IP | 127.0.0.1 | The IP address NextNote sends OSC feedback to. Set this to the IP of your Companion/OSC controller machine. |
| Feedback Port | 9000 | The UDP port NextNote sends feedback to on the Feedback IP. |
When OSC is running, a green indicator shows Running on port 8000 (or your configured port).
Web Interface
Enables a browser-based web remote accessible from any device on the same network — ideal for tablet or laptop — without installing any software.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Port | 8080 | The HTTP port the web interface runs on. |
| LiveView | High (30fps) | Frame rate of the live slide preview in the web remote. Reduce if bandwidth is limited. |
| Access Code | 123456 | Add access codes per user to ensure that only that user can gain access to the web remote. C |
The active URL is shown as a clickable link (e.g. http://192.168.0.104:8080) when the web interface is running. Share this URL with anyone who needs remote access along with their access code.
